Fortnightly seminars online: Hierarchical Framework Materials for CO2 capture by Nagore Barroso & Hybrid nanoparticles for the removal of pollutants through plasmonic photocatalysis by Fang Zheng

Hierarchical Framework Materials for CO2 capture.  Nagore Barroso Hierarchical organization is a basic principle found in many systems. The human body, in fact, is a classic example of hierarchical organization. At the lowest level, simple molecular building blocks, such as amino acids or lipids, create 3D biomolecular machines able to perform complex tasks. These molecular components are then organized into subcellular and cellular compartments or domains.

Fortnightly seminar online: Academic-scientific cooperation: BCMaterials-Universidad Industrial de Santander by Ely Dannier Valbuena

Academic-scientific cooperation is strategic to link researchers, professors, professionals, students, with of purpose of making effective transference and exchange of knowledge and creative ideas, the perform basic and applied research, the technology development, and innovation in different areas of the knowledge by mean of, research stays, research project, write and divulgation of documents, and any mechanism that carries out the strengthening of the academy and the research of the participant institutions.

Fortnightly Seminar: Virginia Vadillo and Meenakshi Pegu. High magnetization FeCo nanofillers for magnetorheological fluids applications /Top layer interface engineering of perovskite solar cells

Meenakshi Pegu´s seminar: Hybrid organic-inorganic perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have achieved an impressive power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 25.2% so far. We need to understand the paramount importance of the working mechanism of the device which is govern by various physical and chemical processes that is undergoing to improve not only the PCE, but also the long term stability. Hence, the interface engineering between the perovskite layer and charge transfer layer are among the important facets in determining the photovoltaic performances and long term stability.

Fortnightly seminars: Two-dimensional Transition Metal Dichalcogenides as Charge Transporting Layers for High Efficient Perovskite Solar Cells by Dr. Peng Huang

Hybrid organic-inorganic perovskite solar cells have attracted plenty of attention due to the merits of high power conversion efficiency (PCE)(over 25%), solution-processability and low fabrication cost and so on, but the toxicity of lead in perovskite active layer and stability issues of perovskite and devices are the most critical obstacles in the commercialization of this technology. To improve device stability, we have successfully applied 2D transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) as charge-transporting layers into perovskite solar cells.
