Singlet fission (SF) has been proposed as a promising way to increase the photovoltaic power conversion efficiency beyond the Shockley–Queisser limit. The majority of materials known for efficient SF phenomenon up to now belong to the groups of biradicaloids and large benzenoid hydrocarbons.

Charla de Senentxu Lanceros-Mendez en NAUKAS PRO BILBAO 2018
18:40 a 19:00 : BCMaterials, Basque Center for Materials, Applications and Nanostructures: Nuevos materiales… para una vida mejor!
Se trata de un evento Naukas en el que Centros de Investigación, Laboratorios, científicos de renombre o equipos de trabajo contarán con 20 minutos para explicar a un público general en qué consiste su trabajo.
Engineering reaction-diffusion environments for materials synthesis
Chemists and material scientists frequently study functional self-assembled structures at the global minimum of Gibbs energy (thermodynamic control). Recently, however, there is a major interest in the scientific community to develop new methods that could potentially convey an increased control of self-assembly processes in time and space (kinetic control).
