Invited talk by Javier Vela on May 17

BCMaterials will offer a new invited talk on May 17, by Dr. Javier Vela, Professor of Chemistry at Iowa State University (USA).
The talk, will take place in the auditorium of the Martina Casiano building (BCMaterials headquarters, in Leioa), will begin at 11:00 am. “Alkaline-Earth Chalcogenide Nanocrystals: Synthesis and Characterization” will be the title of this invited talk.
Dr. Vela holds a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Rochester (USA). After some stints at the University of Chicago and the Los Alamos National Laboratory, Vela joined Iowa State University in 2009, where he became a full professor in 2020. He has more than 100 published articles and several patents on nanostructured materials and inorganic compounds and their application to energy conversion, chemical catalysis and fluorescence imaging.
Attendance at the talk is open to the public until the auditorium is full.
