Subhajit Dutta Joins BCMaterials as Post-Doctoral Researcher
BCMaterials is happy to welcome a new post-doctoral researcher: Dr. Subhajit Dutta. He obtained his B.Sc. (Chemistry) from University of Calcutta (India) in 2014 and received M.Sc. degree from the same academical institution, India in 2016. Thereafter, he joined the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Pune (India) as a PhD student under the supervision of Prof. Sujit K. Ghosh and received his Ph.D. in 2022.
Marta García, New Pre-Doctoral Researcher at BCMaterials
BCMaterials wants to welcome Marta García, who has joined our center as pre-doctoral researcher. She will work on the development of biodegradable batteries, along with Erlantz Lizundia, UPV/EHU Research Associate at BCMaterials. In particular, García will investigate different possibilities of natural polymers and derivatives of cellulose applied to these batteries.
Welcome, Marta! We hope you totally enjoy working with us at BCMaterials!
Institutional visit to the Tokyo Institute of Technology in Japan
In late October, Senentxu Lanceros-Méndez, scientific director of BCMaterials, paid an institutional visit to the Tokyo Institute of Technology (Tokio Tech) on behalf of our center. The purpose of the visit was to extend the existing collaboration between Tokio Tech and BCMaterials to new areas.
Nerea Landaluce, New Pre-doctoral Researcher
We are happy to announce the incorporation of Nerea Landaluce as new pre-doctoral researcher at BCMaterials. Nerea will work on the Micro and Nanostructured materials research line along with Roberto Fernández de Luis. More specifically, she will research on the synthesis of biomimetic catalysts in the framework of the EVOLMOF project. Welcome to the team, Nerea!
Senentxu Lanceros-Méndez, Keynote Speaker at the prestigious AGMChem2022 Conference in Poland
BCMaterials scientific director, Senentxu Lanceros-Méndez, took part as keynote speaker at the third edition of the Advances in Green Chemistry Conference (AGMChem2022), held in Poznan (Poland) between 26th and 30th of September.
Mikel Rincón, New Doctor of BCMaterials
We want to congratulate Mikel Rincón iglesias, pre-doctoral researcher of BCMaterials, for becoming new doctor on 13th October. Mikel made an excellent defense of his thesis called ""Sustainable multifunctional materials with tailored magnetic and electrical properties for electronics applications". This is the culmination of a great work carried out in all these years in our center. Congratulations, Mikel!
Mingcai Zhao, New Post-Doctoral Researcher
Mingcai Zhao joined BCMaterials as new post-doctoral researcher. Dr. Zhao received his M.Sc. and PhD in Nanotechnology and Nanoscience from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA, China), in 2017 and 2021, respectively. His research line is preparing amorphous silicon nanoparticles and applying them as anode materials in Li-ion battery.
BCMaterials co-leads the SOLBIO project to eliminate antibiotic contamination in water
BCMaterials, in collaboration with the Center for Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering (CBIT) of the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), leads the project 'Soluciones de detección y remediación para la eliminación de antibióticos en cursos de agua potables o residuales (SOLBIO)'.
New article in Mapping Ignorance
Scientific dissemination and outreach are two key aspects for BCMaterials in its effort to communicate the work it carries out to generate knowledge in new materials science. One of the channels of reference in this field is Mapping Ignorance, a blog emerged on the initiative of the Chair of Scientific Culture of the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU. The blog is aimed at making the scientific and non-scientific public aware of the latest advances in Science and Technology.
Jordi Llusar, New Post-doctoral Researcher
We want to give our welcome to Jordi Llusar as new post-doctoral researcher at our center. After earning his degree in Chemistry at the Jaume I University of Valencia, he completed a master in Theoretical Physics at the Valencia University. Finally, he got his PhD in Physical Chemistry at the Jaume I University as well. He will work in the Computational Materials Science transverse research line in collaboration with Ivan Infante, Ikerbasque Research Professor at BCMaterials. Welcome, Jordi!
